COVID-19 has turned the world upside down, with humanity facing major health, economic and societal challenges. Trying to find ways to tackle these challenges, #hackthecrisis, a global voluntary-led movement of hackathons, was born. From Estonia and Germany to India and Canada: tens of thousands of people joined forces online and have already created some amazing solutions.
Hack the Crisis is an online global hackathon movement. The Netherlands chapter is lead by a coalition of Dutch organizations that want to help solve the crisis caused by the coronavirus COVID-19. On April 3-5 2020, some of the most innovative and motivated minds in the Netherlands were involved in co-creating solutions online and we are happy to have joined them in this great initiative.
The #hackthecrisisNL online hackathon was focused on solutions in fields such as patient care, protection for medical and sanitary staff at hospitals, virus containment and digital solutions for people and business in social distancing times.
To make our combined impact as big as possible, we at InFinIT Partners have decided to join forces as a partner and provide guidance to the participating teams and help maximize their impact, but also with a participating team that has been involved in developing innovative ideas for tackling the crisis.
Our colleagues, Rares Flueras, who was part of the hackathon, shared with us that “Hack the Crisis NL was a surprising experience because, in my opinion, it brought us more together as a team. The participation itself was a little bit last minute but that’s wasn’t actually an issue since we wanted to help the community any way that we could through our expertise, in these dark times. The team stepped up fast and we gave it our best for what was requested. From mockups to analysis to architecture, we discussed and confronted every aspect and came up with a great idea in the end. I am very proud of the team and their involvement.”
We are happy to have been able to co-create solutions for the healthcare sector, & for people and businesses during social distancing times (& beyond!)
